Kathryn J. Rodgers
Kathy’s career embraces a range of legal practices and disciplines, from law firm and in-house counsel practice, to college administration and teaching, to non-profit management and public policy advocacy. In addition to her work as a labor and employment lawyer, she has practiced extensively in the areas of constitutional, higher education and non-profit corporation law. She was the first in-house counsel of Barnard College, Columbia University, acting president of the college, and president of Legal Momentum, the nation’s oldest legal advocacy organization for women’s rights.
Now practicing in her native New Jersey, Kathy uses her unusually varied experience on behalf of the institutions – specifically colleges, universities, and non-profit organizations – with which she is intimately familiar. Her working knowledge of executive, governing board, fundraising and management practices allows her to assist such organizations with legal challenges and with developing policies and procedures that are consistent with each organization’s special mission and goals.
